Job 22:28 Assignment
Job 22:28 declares that “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways." The Hebrew word for decree is gazar (gaw-zar’). It means to cut down or to cut off; to destroy, divide, exclude or decide. The New International Version Bible helps us better understand this verse using our vernacular: "What you decide on, will be done, and light will shine on your ways." The Christian Standard Bible translation goes directly to the point: "When you make a decision, it will be carried out”.
So what “decision” is this scripture referencing towards?
The decision to cut down, cut off, and destroy the plans of the enemy! God’s word gives us instructions on how to proceed when we make this gazar decision: “For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith”. According to [Mark 11:23] we cut down, cut off, destroy, divide and exclude by our saying. [Proverbs 18:21] reiterates this strategy by telling us “that death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof”.
Therefore, we will eat tomorrow what we speak today.
[Romans 4:17] tells us that God “quickeneth the dead and calleth those things which be not as though they were.” In other words, God speaks the end result. God spoke in the now so it could fully manifest in the later. In [Gen 1:3] “God said “Light Be” and there was light”. God created the world with His faith and His words and He is our example. We are to be imitators of Him. Therefore, we create our world with His faith and His Words. (“God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith”. [Romans 12:3]
[Isaiah 55:11] - “It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it”.
On Sunday, September 29th, 2019 the residents of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties are invited to join together and collectively release Gazar (Decrees) into our neighborhoods.
When God placed the desire inside of Nehemiah to rebuild the broken- down walls in his hometown of Jerusalem, Nehemiah instructed the people to rebuild the portion of the wall in their own back- yard. Commentaries write that Nehemiah understood that the Jews would be more invested in the project if they built the section of the wall that would protect their families and homes. When opposition arose to stop the completion of the wall, Nehemiah called out to his people; .“Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and terrible, and fight for your kin, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes” [Neh. 4:14]. Encouraged, they continued building with one hand, while holding their sword in the other, knowing God would give them victory.
Just as the Jewish nation had a physical need to build a wall around their city for protection, we have a similar need to build a spiritual wall around our communities for protection. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”. [Ephes 6:12] And we stand against the wiles of the devil with the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. [Ephes 6:17]
A selection of the Word of God has been prepared for residents to decree in unity on Sept 29, 2019 because "...one will put one thousand to flight (meaning demons), but two will put ten thousand to flight." [Leviticus 26:8; Deuteronomy 32:30]
The decrees that have been prayerfully selected are words that will cut down, cut off, destroy, divide, exclude or decide AND rebuild, restore, recover and resurrect. Shuwb (Strong’s 7725) is the Hebrew word for restore. The word literally means to turn back to the starting point. So when we declare restoration we are not calling a thing back to the way it was but rather we are calling something into the design God intended for it to be from the beginning of creation.
September 29th is a significant day on the Jewish Calendar . At sunset on this date, Rosh Hashanah begins. Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, is one of Judaism’s holiest days’: It means “head of the year” or “first of the year.” In [Numbers 29:1] God instructs us that “In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall observe a sacred occasion: you shall not work at your occupations. You shall observe it as a day when the shofar is sounded”.
According to Jewish history recorded in the Talmud, Rosh Hashanah signifies the creation of the world and man. For this reason, Rosh Hashanah can be seen as the birthday of the world rather than New Year’s in the secular sense. The sounding of the shofar (a trumpet made from a ram’s horn) is a central part of revering Rosh Hashanah and so this Feast Day is also known as the day of the Sounding of the Shofar.
It is not a coincidence that the Job 22:28 Assignment has been scheduled during this season that God calls His appointment with man. It is not a coincidence that Believers will be releasing God’s word and God’s faith synchronously to the anniversary date when Elohim released His words and His faith to create the world.
The vision for Job 22:28 Assignment is for residents to set aside time of Sept 29th to walk through their neighborhoods and speak the attached decrees into the atmosphere, into homes, churches, businesses, schools, hospitals, departments of first responders' and most importantly, over people. Walk with your families, walk with your neighbors, walk with your dogs… just walk and decree because “I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses.” [Joshua 1:3] “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven”. [Matt 18:19]
September 29th falls on a Sunday. Consider walking around your place of worship with your church family and release the decrees.
If you own or have access to a shofar please release its sound into the atmosphere as you walk through your neighborhood. For “In whatever place that you hear the voice of the shofar, join us there; our God shall fight for us”. [Neh 4:20]
The decrees you release are certainly not limited to the template enclosed. Follow the leading of the Holy Spirit as he directs you to strongholds in your community that need cut down, for He surely will instruct you on how to gazar.
